CARICATURES

The word "caricature" essentially means a "loaded portrait". It is a fun way of exaggerating and oversimplifying a person's characteristics in a humorous and complimentary (or sometimes unflattering) way. Perhaps you would like to see yourself in this stylistic form, or, they make a fabulous gift for a friend or loved one with a good sense of humour! If you are interested in commissioning a caricature, please email me via my contact page to discuss any elements you wish to include and the overall narrative - many caricatures tell a story, perhaps embarrassing, humorous or even heroic!

FASHION ILLUSTRATION

Fashion illustration is said to be a visual luxury. Showing the presence of hand, it conveys a garment or style as a piece of art.

There is an outfit in everyone's heart that makes them a feel like a million dollars when they wear it. That piece of clothing that you wish to preserve forever! It could be your prom dress, your cute summer festival ensemble,  or your favourite pair of worn jeans that always makes your bum look amazing, why just reserve fashion illustration to your wedding dress!

They also make perfect gifts for many occasions, just make sure you have a good photo(s) for me to work from. If you'd like to commission a fashion illustration, whatever the ensemble, email me via my contact page to discuss medium (pencil, watercolour etc) , and whether you'd like a 'full- figure' or 'on the hanger' piece.

OTHER ILLUSTRATION

I love illustrating, and I'm in love with too many styles to focus on one - pretty and whimsical, edgy and energetic; contemporary, traditional, or a blend of both!

If you are interested in commissioning an illustration, whether it be of your favourite quotation or piece of text brought to life, a cartoon, or perhaps a book you're working on - whatever you have in mind (no matter how weird), email me via my contact page and we can take it from there.

TV & FILM

The great thing about being a versatile artist is that you never know what your next project could be. Not one to shy away from a challenge, I was delighted to dip my toes in the world of film and TV. In 2015/16 I created a series of illustrations for the animated sequences featured in the documentary 'Crash and Burn'.

My partner in life and crime Paul O'Connor made the animation magic happen.

Chasing perfection is a futile endeavour!

As a perfectionist myself, I opened my eyes to how much of life is missed out on, in pursuit of perfection on the horizon, always in view but never getting any closer. My aim is to convey the feeling of going on and on, as if on a merry-go-round, never getting anywhere and ignoring life's other attractions.
